2:28

I just found out something very cool, very amazing, and mind-boggling. And I would like to jot it down here.

"How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were dead and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned" [2:28]

There are few stages of life mentioned in this ayat. Let's go through them one by one.

1st stage: When you were dead
2nd stage: He brought you to life
3rd stage: He will cause you to die
4th stage: He will bring you (back) to life

If you notice, the 1st stage is when you USED TO BE DEAD.

But the thing is, NOT EXISTING and BEING DEAD are two DIFFERENT things.
Let say ada kawan kita meninggal and then kita pergi ikut kebumi. Adakah arwah kawan kita tu dah tak wujud? Dia still wujud, jenazah dia ada kat situ, cuma dia dah meninggal. They are not some kind of imaginary friends yang tak pernah wujud kan.

Someone can only be dead if they are alive in the first place, yes?

So why does Allah said "when you were dead"? Are we alive before we were born into this world? What does that means?

Yes, we are 'alive' before we were born into this world. Macam mana tu??

Our ruh.

Long story short, the ruh of ALL human beings starting from Adam to akhir zaman were created at the same time. ALL AT THE SAME TIME. We used to be in the company of Allah.

In Islam, being dead and sleeping are closely related. Do you remember doa tidur? Do you remember [36:52]?

When we were in our mother's womb, Allah took that sleeping soul of us and put it in our jasad.
Unlike our jasad, ruh does not have gender, sexuality, race, skin color whatsoever.

There were a lot of things happened back then. But Allah let us know only a liiiitle bit of conversation between Him and us.
Do you remember when our ruh made a deal with Allah? That we gonna be His slave? That we admit He is our Rabb? That we gonna obey Him?

Do you remember? Me neither.

Now can you imagine for how many billion light years we were in the company of Allah? And do you know what happens when we spend too much time with someone? We started to be influenced by them. As what Rasulullah said, kalau kita berkawan dengan penjual minyak wangi kita akan bau wangi and vice versa.

Here comes the mind-boggling part.

Allah is the most merciful. Aren't we, as humans, are merciful too?
Allah is full of wisdom. Didn't we have wisdom too?
Allah is Al-Khaliq. Didn't we created things too?

We were with Allah for sooooooo long that we have a glimpse of Him. Iykwim.

Subhanallah... This is so amazing.

So basically, we were made up of jasad and ruh. And we have to remember that jasad was made in this world using worldly materials. Jasad was made in China Dunya. While ruh was made in heaven using heavenly material.

That's why our bodies always crave for worldly things because they were made here. When bodies get hungry, we feed them with worldly things like food, entertainment, wealth, fame etc. But these same things that satisfy the bodies will never ever satisfy the ruh.

Why???

Because ruh is made in heaven. It craves something from heaven.
So what is the food for ruh? What is it that comes from heaven?

It's the REVELATION! [2:27]

Wahyu.

The words of Allah.

The holy Quran.

After knowing this, I felt very sorry for my ruh.
I've done so much injustice to my ruh.
I felt like this ruh very much wanted to leave this body and return to where it used to be.
I felt like it suffers a lot to be in this filthy, full of sins body.
It is starved. Almost to death.
I felt like it is longing to go back home.
It is like a helpless child who can do nothing to escape this worldly prison.

Yeah it's kinda weird i know.. It's like i wish for my own death... but idk I got this feeling somehow...

Thinking of the title is always the hardest thing to do

I watched a sharing by Ustaz Omar Suleiman on youtube yesterday. Gotta admit I kinda amazed by his sharing. Not just because of his content,...
